Senior Accountant

Ashmin’s Fun Park and Resort Inc., operating as Splashmins Resort, is a growing and diversified Guyanese company with interests in hospitality, real estate development, construction-related activities, machinery operations, and the supply and transportation of construction materials. Its operations include Splashmins Resort, Tapcat Sand and Loam Trucking Service, and the significant Madwini Waterfront Villas residential development, now under active development within the wider Splashmins property.

As the Group continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance & Accounting Manager to help strengthen its financial systems, controls and management reporting, and to become part of building a progressive, professionally managed and efficiently run organisation.

We are looking for a capable, commercially minded finance professional with strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgement and the initiative to help improve systems as the organisation grows. Candidates should possess a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, together with at least five years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience. ACCA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification, whether completed or substantially progressed, would be an advantage. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, internal controls and Guyana’s tax and regulatory requirements is expected, together with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and recognised accounting software. Experience in real estate development, construction, hospitality or another diversified business environment would be particularly valuable.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the Group’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring that accurate and timely financial information is available to support management decision-making. The role will include preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash-flow forecasts; oversight of reconciliations, receivables, payables, payroll and statutory obligations; and the continued strengthening of financial controls and accounting procedures. Particular attention will be given to monitoring expenditure, customer receipts and financial performance associated with the Madwini Waterfront Villas development. The Finance & Accounting Manager will also liaise with auditors, banks and other external stakeholders, supervise junior accounting personnel, and provide practical financial analysis and advice to senior management.
