Purchasing assistants perform clerical tasks, such as processing purchase orders, keeping track of inventory, and managing the completion of requisition forms.
Completed Secondary education and currently pursuing tertiary education.
2-3 years previous experience related commercial or industrial purchasing experience. Experience in the Hotel/Hospitality Industry would be a definite advantage.
Compute accurate mathematical calculations.
Fluency in English.
Familiarity with statistical reports.
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
To be fully conversant with current market prices of all items required by the hotel or catering department.
Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
Ensuring that goods or services are received and recorded correctly.
Doing surveys and maintaining and updating supplier database.
To negotiate the terms of the agreement fairly, bearing in mind the price, quality and continuity of supply.
Perform any other related tasks or responsibility as instructed by supervisor or manager.
