Description
The Duty-Free Cashier is a service-minded and organized team member responsible for managing transactions accurately and efficiently. This role includes handling payments (cash, credit, debit), scanning and packaging items, processing returns, and balancing the cash register. The cashier identifies customer needs and recommends suitable products to enhance the shopping experience, all while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent (CSEC)
Availability: Willing to work flexible shifts
Experience: Minimum 1 year in a similar customer-facing or cashier role
Responsibilities
Greet customers and maintain a positive and friendly attitude
Assist customers in locating desired items
Inform customers about ongoing promotions and offers
Address and resolve customer complaints professionally
Maintain thorough knowledge of store inventory to make product recommendations
Process sales transactions quickly and accurately
Accept and manage cash, credit, and debit payments
Handle product returns and exchanges
Track transactions and report discrepancies when needed
Scan items and ensure correct pricing
Maintain appropriate levels of change in the cash drawer
Support cross-selling and upselling of products
Reconcile daily sales receipts and cash drawer totals
Collaborate with team members to meet sales targets
Bag, box, or gift-wrap items as required
Keep the checkout area clean and orderly
