Network Control Specialist II

This role specializes in ensuring the performance of the ATN International network in all markets through monitoring of traffic, performance, and configuration. Identifies problems, isolates root causes, and initiates corrective action. Conducts proper maintenance of systems and ascertains compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines.

• Diploma/Degree in Telecommunication and or CISCO, CCNP or equivalent

• Networking qualification or knowledge and experience with LAN, WAN Networks and Structural Cabling

• Working understanding and knowledge of various technologies including SMTP, Cisco, Calix, SNMP, routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, NMS and Security.

• At least five (5) years’ experience in the Telecommunication Industry or related experience.

• Positive, service-oriented personality

• Ability to work under strict deadlines.

• Good interpersonal and team building skills.

• Drivers’ License to drive car, van and pick-up

• Collaborate with Technicians, International IP, and Engineers involved in properly maintaining and operating Telecommunication systems and equipment.

• Investigate and resolve complex Network issues, including analyzing logs and system metrics to identify root causes and implement solutions.

• Acts as point of escalation and should provide guidance and assistance in resolving escalated issues.

• Determine priority of action and additional resources required based on the severity of service interruption.

• Technical analysis to all customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services.

• Liaise with NOC Specialist 1, NOC Engineers, Field Engineers, Core Engineers, Transmission, RF and staff locally and internationally regarding ongoing Network activities.

• Analyzes Network performance data and recommends optimizing Network performance, capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades with International IP and Engineering teams.

• Implements local and International Network infrastructure changes, following management processes to ensure minimal disruption to operations and adherence to security policies.

• Ascertains compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines.

• Generates reports on Network performance, trouble-shooting results and routine maintenance of network elements.

• Drives Company Vehicle in the execution of company related duties
