The Audit Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating external audit engagements from the planning stage through to completion, ensuring that audit work is performed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with applicable auditing standards, accounting standards, legislation and the firm's audit methodology.
The Audit Supervisor acts as the principal link between junior audit staff, clients and the Audit Manager/Partner and is expected to take day-to-day responsibility for assigned audit engagements.
A recognised accounting qualification or be an advanced student pursuing ACCA, CPA, CA or another recognised professional accounting qualification.
Approximately three to five years of relevant external audit experience.
Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior audit staff is preferred.
Sound knowledge of International Standards on Auditing.
Working knowledge of IFRS and/or IFRS for SMEs.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
Experience auditing small and medium-sized businesses.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting/audit software.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
