The Medical First Responder is responsible for providing emergency medical response, first aid treatment, medical stabilization, health monitoring, and basic healthcare support to employees, contractors, and visitors at the Company's interior operations.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the camp medical facility, coordinating medical evacuations where required, managing medical supplies, and promoting occupational health and wellness initiatives to support a safe and healthy working environment.
Certification in Emergency Medical Response (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced First Aid, Industrial First Aid, or an equivalent medical qualification.
Valid CPR and AED certification.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in emergency response, industrial first aid, ambulance services, healthcare support, or a similar role.
Demonstrated experience in managing medical emergencies, casualty stabilization, and coordinating medical evacuations.
Experience working in remote, camp-based, mining, forestry, or other industrial environments will be an asset.
Additional training in trauma management, remote medicine, emergency response, or occupational health is desirable.
Provide immediate emergency medical response and first aid treatment to injured or ill personnel.
Assess medical incidents and determine appropriate treatment or escalation requirements.
Stabilize injured or ill personnel pending transportation or evacuation to external medical facilities.
Coordinate emergency medical evacuations, including ground, river, or air evacuation where required.
Maintain the camp clinic, first aid stations, and emergency response equipment.
Conduct routine inspections of medical supplies, medications, and emergency equipment.
Maintain adequate inventories of medical supplies and initiate replenishment requests as required.
Administer basic medical treatment within the scope of certification and company procedures.
Maintain confidential medical records and treatment logs.
Conduct pre-shift wellness checks, fitness-for-work observations, and basic health monitoring where required.
Participate in emergency drills, incident investigations, and emergency preparedness activities.
Assist in the management of occupational injuries, illnesses, and medical incidents.
Provide health awareness training and first aid education to employees.
Monitor sanitation, hygiene, potable water, and camp health conditions and report concerns.
Prepare medical reports and incident documentation as required.
Liaise with external medical providers, hospitals, clinics, and emergency services where required.
Support the Company's emergency response plans and crisis management activities.
Maintain comprehensive handover records and ensure continuity of medical services between rotational personnel.
Perform any other related duties that may reasonably be assigned by Management.
