The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment throughout the facility. This role ensures all electrical infrastructure and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company standards. The Electrical Engineer supports continuous improvement initiatives, leads electrical maintenance activities, and provides technical expertise to operations, maintenance, and project teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Strong computer, math, writing, and reading skills.
3. Minimum of three years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, automation, or controls engineering.
4. Experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and industrial automation systems preferred.
Technical Knowledge Required:
• PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and automation controls
• Instrumentation and process control
• Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Control panel design and wiring
• National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA electrical safety standards
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
1. Perform all work safely and in accordance with Company standards, electrical codes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
3. Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize electrical and electronic systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and control panels.
4. Inspect, test, and maintain electrical equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with NEC, OSHA, and company requirements.
5. Design, modify, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
6. Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial automation components.
7. Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new electrical equipment and control systems.
8. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems, including power distribution, control wiring, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
9. Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime.
10. Collaborate with mechanical, production, and maintenance teams to support efficient operation of all equipment.
11. Ensure proper calibration, testing, and verification of electrical instruments and control devices.
12. Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation of electrical work, system changes, and maintenance activities.
13. Assist in developing and implementing electrical safety programs, including lockout/tagout and arc flash compliance.
14. Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians and operators.
15. Participate in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
16. Communicate effectively with supervision regarding project status, equipment issues, and system performance.
17. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.
18. Work scheduled hours as needed to support production and company requirements.
