Environmental Officer

Successful candidate shall be placed on a one-year employment contract with the possibility of renewal. Renewal shall be considered based on performance.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

• High School Diploma

• Degree: Bachelor of Science - Environmental Studies

• 2+ years' Experience as an Environmental Officer

• Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for department operations such as data management or safety procedures

• Inspecting facilities that may pose a risk to employee health or the environment, such as chemicals and industrial waste.

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Conduct environmental assessments and audits, including air and water quality monitoring, waste management, and soil contamination assessments

• Assess environmental projects on the ground, evaluating the performance of projects and public awareness levels, monitoring performance of staff on the ground, and identifying and planning environmental related activities.

• Provide support to the HSEQ Officer and act as a guide to management.

• Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breach of safety

• Prepare standard reports and assessments for tracking and record keeping.

• Aid in the development of the Waste Management systems and processes.

• Educate employees on processes and procedures to foster a safer work environment.
