The Front Desk Attendant is the first point of contact for all laundromat customers. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean, welcoming, and efficiently run facility. The Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing "Wash-Dry-Fold" drop-off and pickup services, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and operational readiness of the laundromat.
Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role (retail, hospitality, or service) is preferred.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Diligence: Strong attention to detail, particularly in sorting, washing, and folding.
Math Skills: Basic arithmetic skills for cash handling, weighing, and calculating service fees.
Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Greet all customers warmly and professionally as they enter the facility.
Process Wash-Dry-Fold (WDF) orders: Weigh, tag, log, and accurately complete customer intake forms for all drop-off laundry.
Clearly explain service options, pricing, turnaround times, and any current promotions.
Handle the cash register, process credit/debit card transactions, and manage change/tokens accurately.
Address all customer inquiries, complaints, and machine issues (e.g., jams, malfunctions) with a professional and problem-solving attitude.
Answer phone calls and respond to customer messages/WhatsApp inquiries regarding services and store hours.
Sort and separate customer laundry according to color, fabric type, and washing instructions prior to washing.
Fold and package completed WDF orders neatly and professionally, ensuring items are matched to the correct customer ticket.
Notify customers promptly when their WDF orders are ready for pickup.
Conduct frequent walk-throughs to ensure the self-service area remains clean, tidy, and safe.
Wipe down and disinfect machine tops, folding tables, and seating areas.
Clean lint traps on all dryers regularly throughout the shift.
Monitor and maintain adequate stock of essential supplies (detergent, dryer sheets, poly bags, cleaning products).
Inform the manager of any needed equipment repairs or supply shortages promptly.
Perform shift opening and closing procedures, including cash counting, balancing the till, and securing the premises.
