Junior Accounts Clerk (Soesdyke)

The Junior Accounts Clerk is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the finance department. This role assists with daily financial recordkeeping, data entry, and administrative tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the company’s accounting operations.

• At least 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

• Experience with data entry, filing, and basic financial recordkeeping.

• Prior exposure to QuickBooks, Peachtree, or other accounting software is an advantage.

• Minimum of five (5) CXC/GCE subjects, including Mathematics and English (required).

• Certificate or diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration (preferred).

• Enrollment in or completion of ACCA Level 1 or equivalent certification would be an asset.

• Good organizational and time management skills.

• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.

• Assist with data entry of daily financial transactions into accounting software or spreadsheets.

• Verification of daily sale transactions, including sales orders, payments, and delivery of products. 

• Maintain and file accounting records such as receipts and invoices for easy retrieval.

• Monitor the stock report versus what was sent out of the compound. 

• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts. 

• Provide administrative support to the accounting department, including preparing reports and responding to customer or supplier queries.

• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
