Description

A cashier supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing all cashier operations and ensuring smooth flow of transactions in The Urban Group of Companies.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of Grades 1 to 3 in Mathematics, English and Accounts

  • Diploma/Degree in related field would be an asset

  • 3 years or more experience managing a small store in retail environment

  • Must have strong customer service skills, leadership skills and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Junior and Senior cashiers to ensure compliance with store policies, provide excellent customer service, and train new staff to improve accuracy and efficiency.

  • Manage daily cash drops, balance registers at the end of each shift, authorize returns, and verify all cash transactions in the presence of cashiers to maintain accountability.

  • Schedule shifts, coordinate breaks during busy periods, and ensure registers are stocked with change and essential supplies such as rolls and pens.

  • Resolve customer complaints, assist at registers when needed, and maintain product knowledge to deliver a friendly and professional shopping experience.

  • Conduct periodic performance checks, monitor cashier operations, report POS issues for resolution, and submit regular reports to management.

  • Support sales and merchandising activities when not engaged in cashier transactions, contributing to overall store operations.

  • Carry out any additional task assigned by management to ensure smooth and efficient store performance.
