The Immigration and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the organization's adherence to all relevant immigration laws and regulations, as well as supporting broader compliance initiatives. This role involves managing immigration processes for foreign national employees, maintaining accurate records, and staying up-to-date on changes in legislation. The Coordinator will also assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures
• Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration and compliance roles, preferably within the marine or construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Guyanese immigration laws and ISO standards.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with government authorities, suppliers and expatriate employees.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with compliance management software.
● Immigration Analysis: Manage the immigration process, including visa applications, work permits, renewals, and residency
arrangements for expatriate employees. Act as a liaison with local immigration authorities and relevant government agencies
to ensure timely and accurate processing of all immigration documentation. Maintain and analyze a comprehensive database
of all immigration-related documents, ensuring ongoing compliance with legal standards.
● Compliance Analysis and Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs that
align with MLC and ISO standards and local regulations. Conduct regular compliance checks to identify potential risks,
providing analysis and recommendations for corrective actions. Collaborate with other departments to ensure company
policies and procedures are fully compliant with best practices.
● Offshore Support: Provide support to offshore employees, addressing issues such as performance management, employee
relations, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
● Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and submit analytical reports to the Contracts Manager/Administrator, management,
and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain detailed records of all compliance activities, audits,
and corrective actions taken. Stay informed on changes in immigration laws and MLC/ISO standards, providing regular
updates and analysis to the management team.
