High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program.
Relevant plumbing license or certification.
Proven experience as a plumber in residential and commercial settings.
Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
Valid driver's license.
Installation and Maintenance:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping in residential and commercial buildings.
Collaborate with construction teams to ensure plumbing components are installed correctly during new construction or renovation projects.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and malfunctions.
Perform inspections to identify potential problems and recommend preventive measures.
Pipefitting:
Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools.
Assemble and install valves, fittings, and fixtures according to specifications.
Reading Blueprints:
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure plumbing plans align with overall project requirements.
Compliance:
Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Keep abreast of changes in plumbing codes and industry best practices.
Customer Service:
Communicate with clients to understand their plumbing needs and provide effective solutions.
Provide estimates for plumbing projects and explain the scope of work to clients.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other construction professionals, including electricians and HVAC technicians, to ensure coordinated and efficient project execution.
Collaborate with project managers and contractors to meet project deadlines.
