Description

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Salad Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh salads, dressings, and other cold dishes, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. This role requires a passion for healthy cooking and a commitment to food safety.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment, particularly in salad preparation or similar roles, is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of salad ingredients and preparation techniques.

    • Excellent attention to detail and creativity in presentation.

    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Salad Preparation: Prepare a variety of salads according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring freshness and quality.

  • Ingredient Sourcing: Select and prepare fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and other salad ingredients; ensure all items meet quality standards.

  • Dressing Creation: Prepare and mix a variety of dressings and sauces, customizing flavors to enhance salad offerings.

  • Presentation: Plate and present salads attractively, adhering to presentation standards and enhancing the dining experience.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of salad ingredients and supplies; assist in ordering and stocking as needed to ensure freshness.

  • Food Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate salad preparation during busy service times.

  • Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new salad recipes and seasonal offerings to keep the menu fresh and appealing.

    • This position may require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on operational needs.

    • If the role is in Wales, daily transportation to the site will be provided from central pickup points on the East Bank, West Bank and Georgetown.

    • A fast-paced kitchen environment; may involve standing for long periods and lifting moderate items.
