Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of baking techniques.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training or specialized baking certification is preferred.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role is required, with a strong understanding of baking techniques and pastry arts.

  • Skills:

    • Proficient in various baking techniques and recipes.

    • Strong attention to detail and creativity in presentation.

    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    • Good communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Baking Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, ensuring the highest quality in all baked goods.

  • Product Development: Create and develop new recipes for breads, pastries, and desserts, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current trends.

  • Quality Control: Monitor baking processes to ensure products are baked to perfection and adhere to quality standards in taste and presentation.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain baking equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good working order.

  • Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels for baking supplies and ingredients; assist in ordering and stocking as necessary.

  • Sanitation Compliance: Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe baking environment.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate the timing and production of baked goods, especially during busy service periods.

Customer Interaction: If applicable, engage with customers to share knowledge about baked products and offer recommendations.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require early morning, evening, and weekend shifts based on operational needs.

  • A fast-paced kitchen environment; may involve standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
