Description

Provide support to the dispatch department which includes but is not limited to weighing and organizing containers for related activities such as scanning etc and ensuring data entry.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Business Administration OR related discipline.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to read, write and compute data

  • Knowledge of weighing equipment

  • Ability to communicate professionally

  • Ability to work flexible hours - weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights

  • Proper Customer Care and Service oriented individual

  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • ability to multitask and be a self-starter.

  • Sound work ethics.

  • Physical Demand

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch containers (full and empty) in a timely and efficient manner (this includes, ensuring all paperwork are adequately verified and available).

  • Ensure Containers that are required to be scanned are available and verify documentation for scanning location.

  • Weighing and documenting full container(s) intended for export.

  • Submission /email weighing data to the export team.

  • Ensure/submission of weight slip to the accounts department.

  • Ensure all intended exports are affixed with a seal/s before entering the yard (this includes adequate inspection and documentation).

  • Assist in preparing cart-note/gate pass pertaining to after hours for empty containers.

  • Maintain detail and legible record-keeping of movements of ALL containers whether belong to our terminal or not, trucks and trailers as well.

  • Record data such as gate moves for incoming and outgoing empty containers as well as incoming full containers.

  • Issue line seals to customers ensuring relevant documentation is done for each.

  • Ensure EIR are completed and submitted to the relevant departments.

  • Provide Support to the dispatch department

  • Report any challenges you may be faced with when asked to perform any related tasks.

  • Performs any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
