Description

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Customer Service Representative to deliver exceptional in-store service and support daily retail operations at Bata Guyana. The successful candidate will assist customers with product selection, process transactions, manage inventory, and ensure a clean and organized store environment.

This role also involves resolving customer concerns, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting overall sales performance. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail or customer service environment (e.g., footwear, clothing, supermarket, or department store).

  • Proven experience assisting customers with product selection, upselling, and delivering a high standard of service.

  • Hands-on experience operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and handling cash, debit, and credit card transactions.

  • Experience managing returns, exchanges, and customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.

  • Exposure to inventory management, including restocking, stock counts, and receiving shipments.

  • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role (e.g., Senior Sales Associate or Shift Lead) would be an asset.

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 CXC / CSEC passes, including English and Mathematics.

  • A Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field is considered an asset.

  • Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and retail systems.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Assistance

  • Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance

  • Answer questions about products, sizes, styles, and materials

  • Provide recommendations to help customers find suitable footwear

Sales & Transactions

  • Process sales transactions (cash, credit, and debit)

  • Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policy

  • Package purchases and provide receipts

Inventory & Store Maintenance

  • Assist with restocking and maintaining an organized store environment

  • Ensure proper merchandising and product displays

  • Identify and report low stock or damaged items

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

  • Address customer complaints in a professional and timely manner

  • Resolve issues related to product quality, size, or fit

  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction

Communication & Customer Relations

  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude

  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members

  • Build rapport and create a welcoming shopping experience

Other Duties

  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and stock counts

  • Support loss prevention efforts and report suspicious activity

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure overall customer satisfaction
