Finance Officer

Nexus Machining & Fabrication Inc. is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support the company’s financial management and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring proper use of QuickBooks, and supporting the overall financial control systems within the organization.

Key responsibilities include recording and processing financial transactions, preparing and issuing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, assisting with payroll processing, and supporting monthly financial reporting. The Finance Officer will also assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and preparation of management reports.

The role requires ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures, maintaining proper filing systems for all financial documents, and supporting procurement and administrative functions where necessary. The Finance Officer will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial tracking and efficient business operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills and prior experience in accounting or finance-related roles.

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (essential)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and maintain proper records
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment would be an advantage

• Record and process all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner using QuickBooks
• Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist in payroll preparation and ensure timely processing of salaries and statutory payments
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review
• Support budgeting and cost control activities across departments
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems
• Monitor cash flow and assist in financial planning and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
• Support procurement processes with proper financial documentation and verification
• Assist auditors during internal and external audits
• Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned by management
