We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Guyana. The successful candidate will operate cranes and other heavy machinery to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on construction sites or industrial onshore/offshore locations. The role requires ensuring safety standards, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and adhering to all operational guidelines.
Certification & Licensing:
Valid Crane Operator Certification or equivalent recognized by local authorities in Guyana. Experience with various types of cranes (e.g., hydraulic, lattice, or crawler cranes) is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience operating cranes in construction, industrial, off-shore or similar environments.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of crane operation, load limits, and safety protocols.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Ability to work at heights and in challenging environments.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Crane Operation:
Safely operate cranes (e.g., mobile, tower, or overhead cranes) to lift and move materials or equipment as per site requirements. Ensure load weights are within the crane's capacity to avoid overloading.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring that the site is secure and free from hazards. Ensure all loads are properly secured and balanced before lifting or moving.
Equipment Inspection and Maintenance:
Perform pre-operation inspections of cranes and other machinery, checking for any defects or maintenance needs. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as lubricating parts or cleaning machinery, to ensure smooth operation.
Communication:
Maintain clear communication with the site supervisor, riggers, and other team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Documentation:
Keep accurate records of crane operations, maintenance, and safety checks. Complete daily logs and report any accidents or incidents promptly.
Site Coordination:
Assist in the layout and positioning of cranes and equipment on construction sites. Coordinate with ground crews to ensure proper crane setup and movement within confined spaces or at elevated heights.
Any other duties assigned.
