Description

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. The role ensures optimal performance, security, and availability of network systems across all departments, including support for wired, wireless, and cloud-connected environments.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 3+ years of proven experience in network engineering or administration.

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ (preferred).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, or similar network devices.

  • Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.

  • Experience in managing Microsoft and/or Linux-based servers is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Willingness to provide after-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN networks.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

  • Ensure network security through proper configurations, firewalls, and access controls.

  • Configure and manage network hardware: routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement and maintenance of networking equipment.

  • Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades including patches, firmware updates, and configuration backups.

  • Support and maintain VoIP and video conferencing systems.

  • Document network topologies, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

  • Work with other IT team members on cross-functional infrastructure and security projects.

  • Respond to and resolve escalated network-related service tickets.
