Description

The Cashier is responsible for providing friendly, efficient customer service by accurately handling sales transactions, maintaining cash and payment records, and ensuring a clean, organized checkout area. The ideal candidate will also assist with light packing and sales support when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of secondary school education.

  • Previous cashier or customer service experience (preferable but not required).

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail or food environment.

  • Willingness to assist with other store duties as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.

  • Accurately process cash, debit, and credit transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Issue receipts, refunds, and handle exchanges where applicable.

  • Maintain an organized and clean checkout counter.

  • Balance cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.

  • Assist with packaging of meats and products during busy periods.

  • Answer customer inquiries about prices, products, and promotions.

  • Monitor and restock small display items near the counter (e.g., seasonings, sauces).

  • Follow food safety and hygiene protocols within the sales area.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
