Description

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas in accordance with hotel standards. The role ensures a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in hospitality or housekeeping

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and restock guest rooms and bathrooms in accordance with hotel standards and safety protocols.

  • Change bed linens and replace used towels and toiletries.

  • Dust furniture, clean windows, and mop floors.

  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.

  • Check rooms for damage or items left behind by guests and report appropriately.

  • Refill cleaning supplies and housekeeping carts at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of housekeeping storage areas, closets, and carts.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests, such as providing extra towels, pillows, or toiletries.

  • Follow proper procedures for lost and found items.

  • Adhere to established safety and hygiene standards, including proper use of PPE and cleaning agents.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering departments to report repairs, broken fixtures, or hazards.

  • Maintain records of room status and cleaning completion using checklists or hotel software.

  • Assist in the training of new housekeeping staff.

  • Help with laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens and uniforms.

  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with all guests and coworkers.
