Description

-       Collaborating with procurement staff to plan for expected deliveries.

-       Collaborating with the Service Department to plan for expected deliveries of equipment.

-       Supervising the unloading of containers and offloading of trucks and equipment ensuring safety practices are observed.

-       Checking off shipments against packing lists and preparing documentation confirming stock receipt, reporting variances to the Supervisor immediately.

-       Assisting with entering purchase receipts into the computer system.

-       Examining incoming inventory for damage and preparing reports for damaged items.

-       Assisting the Supervisor with returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements as necessary.

-       Preparing Quantity Sold Reports as per schedule for timely reordering of stock.

-       Sorting, labeling, and storing stock based on established inventory procedures.

-       Maintaining a demarcated area for non-conforming items to separate them from saleable stock items.

-       Ensuring stock bins and racks are clearly labeled so parts can be easily identified.

-       Ensuring that accurate documentation is completed for all stock leaving the warehouse.

-       Spot-checking outgoing shipments/orders to customers.

-       Issuing stock from the bond to other warehouses or the front store as per customer request.

-       Ensuring stock transfers are processed through the computer system to the relevant internal warehouses.

-       Coordinating work activities with the Supervisor, and other Managers and Supervisors, actively building relationships across functions.

-       Ensuring the maintenance of accurate and current warehouse inventory records.

-       Performing physical inventory checks, investigating & resolving stock discrepancies.

-       Training and enforcing strict compliance with safety regulations as they apply to warehouse operations. Ensuring staff safety, and the effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.

-       Reporting any damage to stock or any equipment in the bond.

-       Ensuring that good housekeeping practices are maintained in the warehouse(s) at all times.

-       Ensuring that unauthorized persons do not access the warehouse.

-       Ensuring that the bond and bond stock are secured at the end of the day, or when the bond is unoccupied during the day.

-       Training/re-training, motivating and disciplining staff.

Requirements

  • 5 Subjects CSEC, with passes in Mathematics & English

  • Experience in Warehousing or Inventory Management.

  • Supervisory skills, and critical thinking.

  • Computer literacy

Responsibilities

  • General operations of the warehouse and supervision of staff.

  • Ensuring that ISO 9001: 2015 & HSE requirements are adhered to.

  • Attending training programmes, seminars & meetings as required

  • Performing any other duties as may be reasonably assigned.
