To provide customer support with responsibilities that include handling cash/cheques, preparing invoices and receipts for customers. Ensuring daily cash/cheque receipts are reconciled, bank deposit slips prepared and funds sent to the bank. Assist with the resolution of discrepancies in customer accounts. The cashier is also responsible for ensuring that the credit terms set for each customer are adhered to.


  • At least four (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of Principles Of Accounts and Mathematics

  • Experience:   At least six (6) months to one (1) year experience as a cashier

  • Must be Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

  • Must be able to operate a calculator, money counter, and any other piece of equipment applicable to the job.

  • Willingness to constantly learn, take up new challenges, and improve.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to work well with the public and effectively deal with angry, irate or disgruntled customers.

  • Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Receipt of cash payments from customers. Ensuring the accuracy of cash received by counting and comparing it to customer invoice.

  • Receipt of cheque payments from customers. Ensuring cheques are only accepted from approved customers, and that amount, date, signature etc is correct.

  • Receipt of customer deposit slips, bank transfer, MMG and bill express payment confirmation from customers and liaise with accounts receivables clerk to verify same.

  • Ensure all postdated cheques received from customers comply with approved credit terms for each customer

  • Print and issue invoices to customers.

  • Maintain a filing system to allow easy retrieval of cash/cheque receipt records

  • Ensure postdated cheques are kept in a locked canister

  • Assist with reconciliation of customer accounts
