Description

The Driver/Saleman will be responsible for selling the Company's products in a friendly, customer-like manner and on a timely basis with a view to meeting or realizing sales targets.

Requirements

  • Three CSEC including Mathematics and English Language. Alternatively, a sound primary education with the ability to read and write proficiently.
  • A valid driver's licence (to drive lorry)
  • Good knowledge of various routes would be an asset. 
  • Be a good team player
  • Have a neat and professional outlook
  • Must be able to relate well with customers
  • Have good time management skills
  • Polite/mannerly
  • Have a friendly personality
  • Have a least 3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

In detail, the Driver/Salesman will be responsible for performing the following duties: 

  • Make requisitions to produce stocks needed for delivery.
  • Process returns and exchanges according to Company policies. 
  • Ensure stocks received are in keeping with forecasted sales schedule.
  • To be on track with daily work schedule, which includes departing the compound enroute to customers in a timely manner.
  • Meet customers requests and provide a bill for every sales transaction.
  • Take notes of customers complaints and provide updates to the Sales Coordinator.
  • Take customer information using sales related forms;
  • Check the validity of products on the customers shelves when restocking customers.
  • Cash sales are deposited according to Company policies. 
  • To take good care of the Company truck.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck's interior (both cabin and storage area).
  • Ensure the truck registration documents are within validity or report same earliest to the Sales Coordinator. 
  • To report all issues and emergencies to the Sales Manager.
  • Ensure the Company truck is returned safely to the compound at the end of the day.
  • Balance all finances and returns at the end of the day.
  • Assist the Sales Assistant in off-loading the trucks at the end of the shift.
  • Perform any related duties.
