Heavy Duty Mechanic

J.S.B. Investments Inc. is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic for its Soesdyke workshop and field operations. You will diagnose, repair and service diesel engines, hydraulic systems and heavy equipment across our excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, trucks, generators and marine engines. Work is issued and recorded through Fleetio work orders, and the job is about returning units to service quickly and recording every repair properly. You report to the Head Mechanic / Mechanical Supervisor and respond to field breakdowns at Safa Point, West Bank and project sites. Salary: GYD 230,000 - 350,000 per month, based on experience. Closing date: 10 November 2026.

Must have: Trade certificate in Diesel or Heavy-Duty Mechanics (GTI or equivalent).

Must have: 4+ years diesel repair experience on heavy equipment or trucks.

Must have: Able to use diagnostic tools and read service manuals.

Must have: Smartphone literate, for Fleetio and WhatsApp reporting.

Must have: Police clearance.

Nice to have: Valid driver's licence.

Nice to have: Experience with marine engines or generators.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling and turbo systems.

Carry out scheduled services per the Fleetio preventive maintenance plan.

Repair hydraulics, transmissions, brakes and undercarriage as assigned.

Respond to field breakdowns at Safa Point, West Bank and project sites.

Record labour, parts and root cause on every Fleetio work order, with photos.

Request parts with correct part numbers through Stores.

Test-run and hand over units only after all checks are complete.

Keep tools and work areas clean and follow lock-out/tag-out and PPE rules.
