Network Technician 1 - Mobile Network Operations

The NT1 is responsible for the deployment, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of telecommunications network infrastructure. The role supports network expansion, operational reliability, and service quality by ensuring that critical telecommunications equipment remains fully functional and compliant with company standards and industry best practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to support network growth, infrastructure upgrades, emergency restoration activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate technical documentation and adherence to safety procedures.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in field operations, preferably within the telecommunications industry.

• Demonstrated experience in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure.

• Experience working in outdoor field environments and supporting critical network operations.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of telecommunications networks and infrastructure.

• Experience with transmission equipment, antennas, base stations, and associated technologies.

• Understanding of network deployment methodologies and maintenance practices.

• Familiarity with network monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting tools.

• Knowledge of safety standards and field operations best practices.

Network Deployment & Installation

• Install and commission telecommunications infrastructure, including base stations, antennas, transmission equipment, and related network assets.

• Support network expansion projects to improve coverage, capacity, and service quality.

• Ensure installations are completed in accordance with company standards and specifications.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on network equipment.

• Diagnose and resolve technical faults affecting network performance and availability.

• Monitor network assets and optimize equipment performance.

• Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.

Field Operations Support

• Maintain operational readiness and reliability of telecommunications infrastructure.

• Conduct field testing and performance assessments.

• Participate in emergency restoration and network recovery activities.

• Ensure compliance with operational procedures and service standards.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams on deployment and enhancement projects.

• Maintain detailed records of installations, inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
