Are you an outstanding student, recent high school graduate, or university student with a passion for teaching and mentoring? We are seeking a motivated, high-achieving female tutor to provide one-on-one English language and literature support to a student with zero English foundation.
This part-time opportunity begins in July and August, with the possibility of continuing during the school term if it is a good fit.
Tutoring sessions will be held at mutually agreed times and may take place at either the student's home or the tutor's location, provided it is safe and conducive to learning.
Requirements
Previous English tutoring or mentoring experience.
Passion for helping beginners achieve academic success in language arts.
Responsibilities
Provide engaging one-on-one English tutoring sessions.
Explain and reinforce fundamental concepts in grammar, reading, and vocabulary from scratch.
Review classwork and revisit topics to build a strong foundational understanding of the English language.
Help develop effective study habits, confidence, basic communication skills, and examination skills.
Prepare simple practice activities and review English homework where appropriate.
Monitor the student's progress and provide feedback on areas that need improvement.
Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
Attend sessions on time and communicate promptly regarding any scheduling changes.
