Health & Safety Officer

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to oversee workplace safety practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will conduct inspections, identify hazards, investigate incidents, implement safety procedures, and promote a safe working environment for all employees. Experience in occupational health and safety and strong reporting skills are an asset.

• NEBOSH certification or equivalent Occupational Health & Safety qualification is preferred.

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role is an asset.

• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures.

• Excellent reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to conduct inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and report preparation.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports with corrective actions.

• Develop and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Ensure employees are trained on workplace safety practices and emergency procedures.

• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and compliance documents.

• Coordinate emergency drills and respond to health and safety concerns.

• Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety and reduce risks.
