Pharmacy Assistant

First Choice Health Care is seeking a reliable, motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant.

The successful candidate will assist with the preparation, packaging and labelling of prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, while supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy, including customer service, sales transactions, inventory management, stock receiving and electronic record keeping.

This is a full-time, shift-based position within a 24-hour pharmacy. The successful applicant will work six (6) days per week with one (1) day off and must be flexible and willing to work assigned shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Applicants should meet one of the following requirements:

Option 1:

Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy. Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, retail or similar environment would be an asset.

OR

Option 2:

A minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects at General Proficiency, Grades I–III, including:

• Mathematics

• English Language

• At least one Science subject — Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Human & Social Biology, or Biology.

Previous work experience is preferred but is not mandatory. Applicants without prior work experience who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, reliability and a good work ethic are encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, packaging and labelling of prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.

• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and process customer transactions.

• Provide professional and courteous customer service.

• Receive incoming stock, verify deliveries and update electronic inventory records.

• Assist with stock checking, price tagging, stock-taking and inventory control.

• Maintain accurate inventory and other required electronic records.

• Ensure medications and consumables are appropriately and securely stored.

• Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and professional appearance of the pharmacy.

• Assist patients with medication-related information under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist.

• Perform other reasonable pharmacy-related duties as assigned.

• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
