The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems within industrial and offshore environments. The role supports safe and efficient plant operations by ensuring the reliability and integrity of electrical distribution systems, control systems, field instrumentation, and associated equipment.
Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) maintenance, installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting within industrial, energy, manufacturing, or offshore environments.
Demonstrated experience working with electrical distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, control panels, motors, and field instrumentation.
Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation devices including pressure, temperature, level, and flow instruments.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
Experience performing loop checks, functional testing, commissioning, and startup support activities.
Competent in the use of electrical and instrumentation test equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, calibrators, and loop testing equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
Knowledge of permit-to-work systems, industrial safety procedures, and safe work practices.
Previous offshore, shutdown, turnaround, or oil & gas experience is considered a strong asset.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and reporting skills.
Medically fit for industrial and offshore environments, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET, TBOSIET, HUET, or equivalent) and a valid offshore medical certificate are preferred or may be required depending on project scope.
Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, control systems, instrumentation devices, and associated equipment.
Install, terminate, test, and commission electrical and instrumentation systems, including field devices and control wiring.
Carry out calibration, verification, and functional testing of instrumentation equipment such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow instruments.
Perform loop checks, point-to-point testing, and system verification activities during commissioning and startup operations.
Support maintenance and repair activities on MCCs, switchgear, UPS systems, motors, control panels, and associated electrical infrastructure.
Diagnose equipment faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain operational reliability.
Execute shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance campaign activities in accordance with project schedules and client requirements.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation.
Complete inspections, testing records, calibration reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, company procedures, and client standards.
Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, hazard identification activities, and incident prevention initiatives.
Utilize electrical and instrumentation testing equipment safely and effectively to perform assigned tasks.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, operations personnel, and other technicians to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
