The Procurement & Logistics Specialist is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, expediting, and coordinating the delivery of goods and services required to support the Company's mining, processing, camp, construction, and administrative operations. The incumbent ensures the uninterrupted supply of fuel, lubricants, food, construction materials, mining consumables, spare parts, tools, and general supplies while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery to remote operational sites.
The position serves as the primary liaison between suppliers, logistics providers, warehouse personnel, camp management, and operational departments to ensure materials are available when required and procurement activities are conducted promptly and in accordance with Company policies and approved budgets.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
Professional certification in procurement and/or supply chain will be an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or materials management, preferably within the mining industry.
Coordinate procurement activities to support mining, processing, camp, maintenance, exploration, and construction operations.
Receive, review, and process approved purchase requisitions from departments and operational sites.
Source goods and services from qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
Conduct supplier evaluations and recommend vendors based on quality, pricing, delivery performance, and reliability.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions to achieve best value for the Company.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and other procurement documentation.
Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries to ensure operational requirements are met.
Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, quotations, and purchasing documentation.
Assist Management in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and procurement efficiencies.
Ensure procurement activities are conducted in accordance with Company policies and approved budgets.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with local and international suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues relating to quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
Conduct periodic supplier reviews and maintain an approved vendor database.
Support the administration and monitoring of supplier agreements and service contracts.
Resolve procurement disputes, delivery discrepancies, and supplier performance concerns promptly.
Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials, equipment, fuel, lubricants, food supplies, and operational consumables to Company facilities and remote work sites.
Liaise with transportation providers, shipping agents, freight forwarders, and logistics contractors to facilitate timely delivery of imports.
Monitor shipment schedules and proactively address transportation delays and supply chain disruptions.
Coordinate cargo movements by road, river, air, and other approved transportation methods.
Ensure that critical operational materials are delivered within required timeframes to prevent interruptions to mining and processing activities.
Support importation activities, customs clearance processes, and shipping documentation where required.
Monitor logistics costs and recommend improvements to transportation efficiency and supply chain performance.
Collaborate with the Camp Manager to coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of camp provisions, food supplies, household items, and operational consumables.
Collaborate with the Head of Materials & Warehouse Operations to ensure efficient replenishment of inventory and operational stock requirements.
Provide procurement and logistics support during equipment mobilization, construction projects, shutdowns, and special operational activities.
Assist in developing procurement schedules aligned with operational and project requirements.
Ensure all procurement transactions are properly documented and supported by approved authorization.
Maintain procurement records and audit trails in accordance with Company requirements.
Ensure purchased goods and services meet required specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements.
Support internal and external audits relating to procurement and supply chain activities.
Maintain confidentiality regarding pricing, supplier information, contracts, and commercial arrangements.
Perform other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by Management.
