Description

Silvie's Industrial Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accounts Clerk to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in our finance department, focusing on tasks such as cheque preparation, bill verification, bank statement reconciliation, and maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 subjects at C.X.C or equivalent diplomas/degree.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.

  • Experience using QuickBooks or Lightspeed.

  • Must possess a valid police clearance.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare cheques and accurately post transactions in QuickBooks.

  2. Verify bills against receipts, ensuring bills over $3,000 include customer details (Name, Telephone, Address, Email) and send weekly reports.

  3. Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.

  4. Update the QuickBooks system with all transactions, including:

    • Bank charges

    • Deposit bags charges

    • Overdraft charges

  5. Maintain organized filing systems for financial records.

  6. Input imported invoices and local purchases into the Bond & Stockroom within 24 hours of receipt.

  7. Support the Repairs Department by capturing videos, maintaining maintenance checklists, and updating the returns book log.

We have since changed our name to Silvie’s Industrial Solutions and diversified into Hardware, Electrical and Industrial Products. Our Hadfield Street location attracts customers in the gold mining, construction, vulcanizing and manufacturing industries, etc. while our High Street location handles the motor spares section of the organization. We provide all replacement parts for the items we sell and we have the best after sales service in Guyana. We employ over 30 trained problem solvers who are dedicated to serving our customers and warranty is extended on all items except engines.

We are conveniently located in the heart of the city, and close to many of the bus parks. Free delivery is offered around Georgetown. We have a repair department that can handle any item that needs repairing or servicing. Customers can place their orders via telephone, WhatsApp or our website at www.silviesonline.com. We offer a layaway plan of 3 months. Some of our most selling items are food processing, agriculture equipment, diesel and gasoline engines, cement mixers, generators, woodworking equipment, water pumps, pressure washers, hoses, v-belts and a variety of parts and quality items to choose from.

We are open for business from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
