Description

The Project Controls Manager (PCM) provides a critical service to the Project and the Company for control of the budget, costs, schedule and scope.  The PCM leads the overall project team in developing cost forecasts and schedule planning and is the key to developing and managing an integrated program across all parts of the project.  The PCM ensures overall integration of the schedules, financial performance of each part of the Project and provides forecasts to the Project Management Team to enable project control of the costs to meet budget and the timing of the works.  The PCM prepares comprehensive reports and presentations that inform management and peers on the overall status of the project.  The PCM guides contractors and EPCM/EPC companies in the development of an integrated reporting structure and data for the overall project.  The PCM maintains rely-on data and historical financial performance and schedule performance records for the project and is a key conduit of information to the overall Aris corporate management structure.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science in Economics, Math or Engineering or a related discipline

  • 5-10 years’ experience in application of project control standards; understanding of Project execution and management processes, procedures and best practices.

  • Training: Project Management Implementation, Cost Controls, Schedule Planning, Technical Writing and / or other related coursework, training, experience or education.

  • Trade or tertiary experience or qualifications.

  • Minimum of 7 years industry experience in major project development stages.

  • Track record of successful support of projects in various roles with broad responsibilities.

  • Extensive experience in roles requiring comprehensive written and verbal communications.

  • Previous track record of successful support of several design and construct projects as Project Scheduler and/or Controls Officer or similar responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly project progress tracking and reports.

  • Weekly coordination meeting minutes.

  • Integrated Project Schedule (Baseline and Trending Schedule).

  • Change Control Board Scheduling and Organization.

  • Budget and Cost Variance tracking.

  • Overall responsibility for adherence and implementation of Project Control Procedures.

  • Support of Document Storage Systems.

  • Provide point-of-contact for corporate data requests.

  • Support development of reports, studies and presentations as required to support Operational and Project Management.

  • Maintain historical tracking of budget and scope shifts throughout the life of the project.

  • Consult and advise the Project Finance Office in preparation of multiple financial reports on the Project.

  • Develop Owner’s Team Cost forecasts and budgets.

  • Assist the Project Team in complying with HSE accountabilities defined in the Aris – Toroparu HSE Management Policies and Procedures.

  • Support Project HSE reviews during weekly project coordination meetings

  • Ensure direct reports (staff working under the PCM) have annual health & safety targets setting out how they are expected to contribute to the health and safety improvement action plans and are resourced appropriately to achieve these targets.
