Position Summary

The Storeroom Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the hotel storeroom, ensuring all inventory is received, stored, issued, and recorded accurately while maintaining proper stock levels and security. This role plays a key part in supporting hotel operations through efficient inventory management, cost control, and adherence to Marriott and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in inventory control or hotel storeroom operations.

  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset.

  • Experience using inventory management or hotel systems (Materials Control, Birchstreet, MC, or similar) is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

    • Comfortable working in cold storage areas and handling food and beverage products.

    • Capable of operating pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the hotel storeroom.

  • Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.

  • Ensure all goods are stored safely using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts.

  • Issue supplies to departments according to approved requisitions.

  • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and notify Purchasing of replenishment needs.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the storeroom.

  • Ensure all perishable items are stored according to food safety standards.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and report any losses or damaged goods.

  • Prepare inventory reports and assist with month-end closing.

  • Work closely with Purchasing, Finance, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage departments.

  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies.

  • Train and supervise storeroom attendants when required.
