Description
Silvie's Industrial Solutions is seeking a proactive Inventory Clerk to support our team in maintaining accurate stock levels and timely customer order fulfilment. In this role, you’ll retrieve items from the stockroom and Hose department, verify each order, prepare stock requisitions, code and label products, and investigate inventory discrepancies.
We’re looking for someone with 2+ years in inventory or warehousing, 5 CXC subjects (including Math and English), strong computer skills, and the ability to lift items over 50 lbs. If you’re detail-oriented, organized, and ready to contribute to a trusted team, we’d love to hear from you!
Requirements
A minimum of 5 CXC subjects, including Mathematics and English.
Proficiency in computer use, particularly in inventory management software; experience with hardware & industrial equipment is an asset.
At least 2 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (50 lbs or more) regularly.
Responsibilities
Retrieve goods from the stockroom and Hose department for customer orders at the delivery counter, verifying each item against the bill.
Proactively prepare stock requisitions to prevent stockouts, ensuring items are replenished and shelves are restocked within designated timeframes.
Accurately code and label all items with the correct pricing to maintain consistency and transparency for our customers.
Partner with departments to monitor and maintain precise inventory levels, conducting investigations as necessary to resolve discrepancies.
Investigate instances of missing or excess items, posting updates in team communication channels as needed.

Our original name, Silvie’s Variety Store, has been in operation since 1972 providing products such as Automobile and Motorcycle parts. We have since changed our name to Silvie’s Industrial Solutions and diversified into Hardware, Electrical and Industrial Products. Our Hadfield Street location attracts customers in the gold mining, construction, vulcanizing and manufacturing industries, etc. while our High Street location handles the motor spares section of the organization. We provide all replacement parts for the items we sell and we have the best after sales service in Guyana. We employ over 30 trained problem solvers who are dedicated to serving our customers and warranty is extended on all items except engines.
We are conveniently located in the heart of the city, and close to many of the bus parks. Free delivery is offered around Georgetown. We have a repair department that can handle any item that needs repairing or servicing. Customers can place their orders via telephone, WhatsApp or our website at www.silviesonline.com. We offer a layaway plan of 3 months. Some of our most selling items are food processing, agriculture equipment, diesel and gasoline engines, cement mixers, generators, woodworking equipment, water pumps, pressure washers, hoses, v-belts and a variety of parts and quality items to choose from.
We are open for business from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
