Description

The Debtors Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and handling the company’s accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining customer accounts and enforcing credit policies. This role involves monitoring overdue accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, and coordinating with customers and internal departments to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debts.

Requirements

·         Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or debt collection, preferably in the automotive industry.

·         Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

·         Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and debt recovery procedures.

·         Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

·         Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

·         High level of integrity and professionalism.

·         Age range betweent 20-25.

·         Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

·         Supervise and handle the debtors/accounts receivable team to ensure efficient collection of outstanding balances.

·         Monitor and analyze the company’s debtors' aging report and take necessary actions to recover overdue payments.

·         Develop and implement strategies to improve debt collection processes and reduce outstanding debts.

·         Communicate with customers regarding overdue accounts, negotiate payment plans, and escalate serious delinquencies when necessary to upper management.

·         Investigate and resolve customer billing disputes and discrepancies in a timely manner.

·         Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and industry best practices.

·         Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
