Join our dynamic Americas Regional Team as our Guyana Response Manager and be at the forefront of showcasing our capability and enhancing our profile within this region. 

You will act as our client's Response Manager and will primarily be managing our base, maintaining our surface and subsea equipment to ensure we are ready to safely mobilize when the call comes in, as well as ensuring the training, development, and competence of the local Response team.  

You will also be the Company’s main representative in Guyana and play host to both current and potential members within the region, regulators, and showcase our capability to enhance the client’s profile in the Equatorial Margin.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Americas Regional Manager to establish and develop the client's Guyana base and act as Base Manager.

  • Ensure all operational activities are carried out within statutory and company requirements and with due regard to the health and safety, security, environment, and quality matters relating to staff, sub-contractors, and others within whom we have dealings

  • Be responsible for operational safety and readiness of the base, including, but not limited to:

    • Generic, site-specific, and dynamic risk assessments of the base, client-related exercise, and response activities

    • COSHH assessments and review 

    • Operational work instructions / safe methods of work

    • Employee welfare 

  • Co-ordinate the cost-effective maintenance and/or repair of base infrastructure and equipment to ensure operational readiness 

  • Ensure response readiness of the systems, facilities, designated equipment, and other response resources, which includes ensuring the readiness of local sub-contractors 

  • Manage the team, contractors, and the management of associated local partners for maintenance and mobilization. 

  • Host visits from current and potential members in the region, regulators, or other stakeholders / interested parties

  • Ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Oil Spill Response Integrated Management System in the facility including the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and OHSA1800 accreditation. 

  • Be accountable for the execution of the Service Agreements with our members in the Equatorial Margin region. 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Manage the response process in the base during any exercises and actual activations, in coordination with the client's Duty Manager and Incident Manager.

  • Carry out periodic drills and exercises to demonstrate response readiness in coordination with the Duty Team

  • Instigate and build strong working relationships with local and regional Shareholders, stakeholders, and other potential customers

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling inquiries effectively, responding promptly, and following up rigorously 

  • Enhance the business profile of the company by marketing available services to prospective customers. Maximize the opportunities to further develop the business

  • Be responsible for developing the annual budget and managing resources within agreed budgets.

  • With support from the regional People Team ensure that all employee issues are dealt with in a timely manner in compliance with local legislation and Oil Spill policies and procedures

  • In conjunction with the EOC and normal mobilization procedures, act as a technical Advisor/In Country Manager as required within Guyana .
