Role Overview:
We are seeking a Disability Hearing Summary Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading and interpreting medical records. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a strong understanding of medical terminologies.

Requirements

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • A degree in Nursing, Law, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in reading and interpreting medical records.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of medical terminologies, procedures, and practices.

  • High ethical standards and professionalism.

  • Prior experience in a disability hearing setting or related legal field.

  • Certifications in medical coding or legal research.

    *While the above criteria is preferred, we will consider any candidates with a strong work and/or educational background.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyse, and summarize medical records and other evidence submitted in disability hearings.

  • Work closely with attorneys and other team members to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each case.

  • Produce clear, concise, and objective summaries that highlight key evidence, facts, and inconsistencies.

  • Stay updated on legal and medical regulations and terminologies relevant to disability cases.

  • Provide guidance on medical terms, procedures, and implications to legal professionals and decision-makers.

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all evidence is considered and presented accurately.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical records, evidence, and personal data as per legal and ethical standards.
