Deputy Chief Security Officer

The Deputy Chief Security Officer will assist in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security strategies to safeguard the organization’s personnel, assets, infrastructure, information, and operations across Guyana.

• Education:
  Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an asset.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years in security operations within the corporate, government, or military sectors

  • At least 3 years in a senior or command-level leadership position

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Chief Security Officer or in a comparable high-level security management role is required

• Military Background:
  Prior military service is required. Officer-level rank or equivalent leadership experience is preferred.

• Certifications (Preferred):
  CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or equivalent internationally recognized certifications.

• Security Operations: Manage day-to-day physical security, including access control, surveillance, emergency response, and incident reporting.

• Facility & Personnel Protection: Coordinate security for facilities, events, and high-profile individuals, ensuring compliance with national laws and industry regulations.

• Risk & Crisis Management: Support threat assessments, crisis response planning, and monitor local developments that may impact security.

• Personnel Oversight: Supervise internal and contract security teams; manage background checks, internal investigations.

• Policy & Compliance: Help develop and enforce security protocols in line with local regulations and health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Training & Awareness: Assisting with staff security training and promote a strong organizational security culture.
