The Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing inventory and stock operations in the bond (storage room) and retail store. This role involves receiving, organizing, and maintaining inventory, ensuring that goods are properly stored, recorded, and made available for timely replenishment of shelves. The Bond/Stock Clerk ensures efficient stock management, prevents shrinkage, and supports smooth store operations.
Retail Experience and 5 CXC Subjects Mathematics and English inclusive, Prior experience in inventory management, warehousing, or retail stock handling (preferred).
OR
Five (5) subjects at CXC with a minimum of three (2) years relevant experience.
· Receive, verify, and record incoming stock deliveries, ensuring the accuracy of quantities and product details against invoices or delivery notes.
· Properly store and organize items in the bond/warehouse, following company protocols to maximize space and maintain easy access to stock.
· Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts) and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
· Track and record stock movement, such as incoming orders, returns, and damaged goods.
· Assist in managing stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) to ensure older stock is sold first.
· Monitor and report low stock levels or excessive inventory to the Mini Mart Supervisor or Branch Manager.
· Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the bond/warehouse area.
· Label shelves and storage areas to ensure proper stock placement and easy identification.
· Ensure all stock is stored securely, minimizing the risk of damage, theft, or spoilage.
· Handle and dispose of damaged or expired goods in compliance with company policies.
· Monitor and restock retail shelves as needed to prevent stockouts.
· Collaborate with the store team to prioritize replenishment based on sales trends and customer demand.
· Assist in setting up promotional displays and ensuring sufficient stock is available for advertised sales or events.
· Assist with unloading and receiving shipments.
· Support the store team during peak times by assisting on the sales floor, as required.
· Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Mini Mart Supervisor and/or Branch Manager.
