Truck Driver

Brunel is seeking a Truck Driver to work in a 1-year contract (with possibility of renewal) with one of our clients in the transport sector. Working hours are 12 hours per day (day shift only) from Monday until Saturday located in East Bank Demerara, GY.

• Proven experience as a Truck Driver in heavy transport, preferably operating multi-axle or specialized heavy-haul trucks.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (appropriate to Guyana or internationally transferable).

• Experience with special and oversized loads (trailers)

• Confidence with reversing with trailers, slopes, and basic preventive maintenance

• Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport oversized and heavy cargo safely across Guyana.

• Perform vehicle inspections and ensure proper load securement according to safety and regulatory standards.

• Maintain transport documentation, including trip logs, delivery records, and inspection reports.

• Follow assigned routes and transport plans, coordinating with escort vehicles and ground crews when required.

• Report mechanical issues, incidents, or delays and assist with basic vehicle care and maintenance.

• Support loading/unloading activities and collaborate with operations teams on heavy-move procedures.
