Sales Assistant

POSITION:                             Sales Assistant               

REPORTS TO:                       Salesman/Driver                      

PURPOSE:                            To assist the Salesman/Driver with the selling, loading and offloading of all Company products, ensuring good customer service and satisfaction, within a dedicated Route and as directed by the Salesman/Driver.

Sales Assistant shall:

1.            Report for work on time every day.

2.            Observe good personal hygiene and grooming.

3.            Wear the Company uniform at all times on the job.

4.            Never to consume alcohol or drugs while on the job.

5.            Show respect for Management.

6.            Attend all meetings and training sessions organized by the Company.

7.            Be accountable to the Company and comply with all Company Policies including discipline for unsatisfactory performance of their duties and failure to carry out their responsibilities.

Basic Maths and English

Must be able to read and write proficiency

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In assistance and support to the Salesman/Driver, the Sales Assistant shall:

1.     Load and offload goods and other items from the truck.

2.     Ensure minimum losses are incurred on Company products by the careful and respectful handling of all such items.

3.     Assist with the stocking & merchandising at various locations, to ensure that the Company’s Products and properly rotated as well as to ensure that the display is clean at all times.

4.     Assist the with the performance of simple maintenance tasks i.e. cleaning of the vehicle, taking vehicle for inspections, filling tires with air etc…).

5.     Assist with selling the Company’s products to customers and to liaise with shop managers over the movement of stock between shops as directed by the Salesman/Driver.

6.     Build constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.

7.     Maintain security of all goods collected, transported and delivered.

8.     Monitor accuracy of products loaded onto the van.

9.     Monitor products to ensure they are not damaged or expired.

10.  Use of the Company Van strictly for Company business
