Sales Person

A Sales Person is responsible for assisting customers on the sales floor, helping them choose the right products, and providing accurate information on features, prices, and promotions. The role includes maintaining attractive and well-stocked displays, ensuring products are labelled correctly, and keeping the department clean and organized. Sales Persons support customers from the moment they enter the store until they complete their purchase, while also reporting low-stock items, monitoring for loss prevention issues, and participating in stock counts. The position requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to work shift hours in a fast-paced retail environment.

1. Five subjects at CSEC, inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.

2. Basic computer literacy

3. Good customer service orientation with the ability to engage, advise, and upsell effectively.

4. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Fast learner with the ability to understand a wide range of products (appliances, tools, hardware, household, etc.).

6. Strong attention to detail for accurate pricing, product presentation, and stock maintenance.

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining courtesy and professionalism.

• Greet customers promptly and courteously; identify their needs and recommend suitable products.

• Provide product information (features, benefits, prices, warranty, promotions) and assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.

• Actively promote special offers.

• Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked shelves, racks, and promotional displays in the assigned area.

• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and pricing merchandise; place items in correct locations.

• Ensure accurate product labelling, pricing, and barcoding and report any discrepancies.

• Coordinate with Cashiers and Porters to ensure smooth customer flow from selection to checkout and loading.

• Monitor for potential shoplifting or suspicious behaviour, and report it immediately in accordance with company procedures.

• Adhere to all health, safety, and security procedures in the store.
