The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of waste collection vehicles, containers, and equipment. This role involves coordinating daily waste collection schedules, optimizing routes, managing drivers and fleet performance, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. The coordinator serves as the communication link between customers, drivers, and the operations team to ensure smooth service delivery.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in logistics, fleet coordination, or dispatch (preferably in waste management, transport, or construction sectors).

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics tracking software.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
Knowledge of waste collection routes, vehicle types (e.g., compactors, roll-ons, skip trucks), and safety procedures is an asset.
Prepare and distribute daily collection schedules and routes for waste trucks and drivers.
Adjust and optimize routes based on customer requests, service frequency, and traffic conditions.
Track vehicle movement in real-time using GPS or dispatch systems to ensure route compliance.
Monitor fleet availability, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
Ensure that vehicles are serviced, inspected, and roadworthy at all times.
Coordinate with the maintenance department to report and resolve mechanical issues quickly.
Communicate daily assignments, changes, and instructions to drivers and field supervisors.
Ensure waste collection, skip bin deliveries, and roll-on/roll-off operations are executed on time.
Follow up on missed collections or delays and arrange prompt service recovery.
Act as a liaison between the operations team and clients to handle inquiries, schedule changes, and complaints.
Maintain accurate records of customer service requests, service logs, and collection manifests.
Support the billing and customer service departments by providing accurate service data and documentation.
Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
Conduct routine checks to confirm that drivers have valid licenses, PPE, and understand waste handling protocols.
