The Night Auditor is responsible for verifying and balancing daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate guest accounts, and providing exceptional guest service during the overnight shift. This role combines accounting functions with front desk responsibilities, requiring a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and customer service skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or hospitality preferred.
Previous experience in a hotel front desk or accounting role preferred.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Financial Auditing:
Perform daily audits of hotel financial transactions, including guest folios, cash transactions, and credit card settlements.
Verify and balance all departmental postings to guest accounts.
Generate and distribute daily financial reports.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Prepare and transmit end-of-day data to management.
Reconcile all bank deposits.
Front Desk Operations:
Provide exceptional guest service during the overnight shift.
Handle check-ins and check-outs, including processing payments and issuing room keys.
Respond to guest inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
Make and confirm reservations.
Assist guests with late-night requests and emergencies.
Prepare and deliver any needed reports for the morning shift.
Security and Safety:
Monitor hotel security and ensure guest safety.
Conduct nightly security walks of the property.
Respond to and resolve any security or safety concerns.
Follow established emergency procedures.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Prepare and distribute reports as required.
Ensure the front desk area is clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
