Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented The Accounts Payable and Payroll Officer. The Accounts Payable and Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and payroll functions. This includes verifying and processing invoices, preparing and distributing paychecks, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Requirements

  • ​High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Accounting Technician 

  • Experience in accounts payable and payroll processing.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Industry-Specific Requirements: Some industries may have specific requirements or certifications for payroll and accounts payable professionals.

  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with specific accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP) is often beneficial.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify and resolve issues related to invoices, payments, and payroll discrepancies is essential.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports in a timely manner.

  • Verify invoices for accuracy and approval.

  • Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.

  • Maintain vendor files and records.

  • Prepare and process payments to vendors.

  • Reconcile vendor statements.

  • Assist with month-end close procedures.

Payroll:

  • Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Calculate taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related items.

  • Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits.

  • Maintain employee records and update payroll information.

  • Process employee benefits and deductions.

  • Prepare and file required payroll tax returns.

  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including 7B slips distribution.

General:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

  • Assist with audits and reconciliations.

  • Respond to inquiries from employees and vendors.

  • Stay up to date on relevant accounting and payroll regulations.

  • Use accounting software to process transactions and generate reports.
