The Candidate plays a key role in preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for building, working closely with engineers to understand structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements and incorporate those into drawings. Regularly update and adjust plans based on feedback, site conditions, and project changes. Detail the arrangement and specifications for building materials, electrical systems, HVAC, and other infrastructure elements.
What is needed to be hired.
Technical certificate and or diploma in drafting, engineering, or related field is preferred.
At least 2 years proven experience as a Drafter.
Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant design software (e.g., Revit).
Knowledge and efficient use of AutoCAD software required. Ability to use AutoCAD for drawing file publishing, sheet sets, page setups, Xrefs, text attributes, and layout viewports required.
Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and project requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drawings.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Review the prospect’s site and needs and works with the Estimating/Design and Operations Team
to ensure the development of the right solution.
• Provide innovative electronic low voltage system designs for new and existing clients.
• Design electronic low voltage system and subsystem solution from initial concept to final product
based on client’s requirements.
• Generate and write Specification Requirement Documents for all designs.
• Build and grow manufacturer relationships for demos and design assistance.
• Review and strategize on processes around design build processes to ensure smooth handoffs
from departments.
• Stay informed of new technologies as they apply to electronic low voltage applications.
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
• Prepare low voltage plan drawings for all new design builds.
• Prepare low voltage plan drawings for current projects in process.
• The Drafter ensures the design and scope is complete to avoid additional project costs and
reduced margins after the project is sold.
• Utilize documentation, application guides, and industry best practices to support the design and
installation process.
• The Operations Drafter works with the Installation Team to ensure the electronic low voltage
system design is deployed within the timeline established.
