The primary responsibility of this role is to inspect scaffolding structures to ensure they meet safety standards and regulations. As a Scaffolding Inspector, plays a critical role in maintaining a safe work environment by conducting thorough inspections and ensuring all scaffolds are properly assembled, secure, and compliant with local safety codes.
Certificate in health & Safety (NEBOSH or OSHA or Equivalent)
At least 2 years proven experience as a Scaffolding Inspector or in a similar safety or construction inspection role.
In-depth knowledge of scaffolding types, design, and construction methods.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and on construction sites.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
Ability to lift, carry, and climb as necessary to complete inspections.
Conduct daily inspections of scaffolding systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
Identify potential safety hazards and issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly to eliminate risks.
Verify scaffold design, construction, and load-bearing capacity according to engineering specifications.
Ensure that scaffolding components are in proper condition and free of defects, including checking for structural integrity and secure fastening.
Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions taken.
Collaborate with project managers, safety officers, and contractors to address scaffolding-related concerns and improve safety protocols.
Keep records of scaffold inspections, maintenance, and repairs, and assist with audits or regulatory inspections when needed.
Stay current on all relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices related to scaffolding.
Conduct training sessions for workers on scaffolding safety and best practices as required.
