The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for mining operations, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring that designs adhere to industry standards and regulations. This role involves working closely with engineers, geologists, and other site personnel to produce accurate drawings for the mine’s infrastructure, equipment, and layout.
Technical certificate and or diploma in drafting, engineering, or related field is preferred.
At least 2 years proven experience as a Draftsman in a mining or construction environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant design software (e.g., MicroStation, SolidWorks).
Strong understanding of drafting standards, drawing conventions, and industry codes.
Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and project requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drawings.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of mining equipment, civil, mechanical, and electrical systems is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for mining operations, including infrastructure, equipment layouts, and site development plans.
Work closely with engineers and geologists to translate technical specifications into detailed drawings.
Maintain and update design documentation, ensuring all drawings are kept current and in line with project changes.
Ensure all drafting work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and bill of quantities.
Participate in site surveys to collect data for drafting purposes.
Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of drawings.
Produce drawings for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems used in mining operations.
Maintain and organize a comprehensive library of project documentation and drawings.
Review and revise drawings to incorporate feedback from engineers and project managers.
Ensure that all drawings are clear, accurate, and meet operational needs.
